Madrid: Barcelona midfielder Denis Suarez has agreed to return to his former club Celta Vigo for four years, according to the Spanish champions.
Celta Vigo, based in Galicia in northern Spain, will pay a total of 12.9 million euros ($ 14.7 million) plus € 3.1 million, according to a statement from Barcelona.
"Barcelona would like to express our gratitude to Denis Suarez because of his promise and confidence, and we wish him all the luck and the future."
The 25-year-old came from the Celta Vigo academy before moving to Manchester City at the age of 17, but has never played in the Premier League.
He left the English side Barcelona in 2013. After a season or a season-long loan spell at Sevilla, the former Spain international, 21, joined Villarreal on a permanent basis.
He returned to Barcelona in 2016, when he joined the Catalan giants but failed to find a permanent place in the starting XI.
Suarez played for Arsenal on loan in January, but his second season in England ended the injury.
