Kolkata: Gokulam Kerala FC and FC Goa defeated their other rivals to maintain their 129th Durand Cup victory today.
Gokulam Kerala of Trinidad and Tobago playmaker Marcus Joseph again made the biggest impact, scoring twice (43, 87th) and Shibil Muhammed scoring in the 56th minute of the Indian Air Force's 3-0 win at the airport. Solen Manna of Howrah.
Joseph scored a hat-trick in the 4-0 win over Indian Super League Chennaiyin FC, and their second consecutive victory saw them lead the Group D table.
A draw with the first I-League teams from Manipur, TRAU FC, on August 18 will be enough for the Kerala team to reach the semi-finals.
FC Goa, meanwhile, are also in the hunt for a Group C semi-final, securing a 2-1 victory over Chennai City FC, who have a bench.
The Goan ISL franchise is currently level with Real Kashmir FC with six points each and their result on August 17 will determine the Group C semifinal.
Liston Colaco equalized the first time the Goans scored in the eighth minute but Mashoor Shereef restored the honors in the 16th minute.
Nestor Dias scored the winner for FC Goa in the 30th minute to give them their second consecutive victory.
In the opening game, the Goans were defeated by Army Green Green 1-0.
