American gymnast Bobby Morrow, who won three gold medals at the 1956 Olympic Games in Melbourne, died on Saturday at the age of 84, the world champion said.

Morning won gold in the 100 and 200 meters and helped the United States win the 4x100m Relay, setting a world record. He is the fourth man to win all three events in a single game, along with Jesse Owens, Carl Lewis and Usain Bolt.

He was named Sports Illustrated & # 39; s "Sportsman of the Year" in 1956 and set 11 world records during his career.

US media say Morrow died of natural causes at his home in San Benito, Texas.
