New Delhi: Veteran shooting Jaspal Rana on Wednesday praised Narinder Batra to support sports but did not agree with the proposal of the IOA that India should stop Commonwealth Games competitions.
Batra sparked a debate on the issue with his comments that the CWG was wasting time, and the country considers a permanent exit from the four-year event.
Batra is of the view that the level of competition in the CWG is not perfect.
I'm second to him (Batra) because he supports sports. You (2022 CWG organizers) cannot give up sports as part of their many years' interest, "Rana, who is also a national pistol instructor, told PTI.
"But this can also have a negative impact because withdrawal will completely affect the players. Winning medals, regardless of the size of the event, is great for athletes.
"It is a guide designed to prepare for the event is like the Olympics. In addition, following the shooting, it is a case of shooting Indians have much improved in recent years anything else. They have other negative positively., he added.
Batra had earlier dismissed India for yeeraysay the C22-C22 when it was at Birmingham, which plays on the inclusion of the shooting sports.
His proposal to withdraw from the CWG, though, was not received by many.
